This Privacy Policy describes how Virtual Human Technologies (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the developer of Virtual Orator, collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Virtual Orator software application (“App”) available through the Meta Quest store, Steam, and other platforms.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains our privacy practices and your rights under applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other relevant privacy regulations.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information We Do NOT Collect

Virtual Orator is designed with privacy at its core. The App does NOT collect, transmit, or store:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, address, phone number)
  • Voice recordings or audio data
  • Speech content or text entered into the App
  • User-generated content of any kind
  • Behavioral data or usage analytics
  • Location data
  • Cookies or tracking technologies

All content you create within the App remains solely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

1.2 Device Identification for Licensing

The only data element we use is a hardware-derived device identifier code for software licensing verification purposes. This code:

  • Is generated from hardware characteristics of your device
  • Contains NO personally identifiable information
  • Cannot be used to identify you as an individual
  • Is used exclusively to verify that your copy of the App is properly licensed
  • Is transmitted to and processed by our third-party licensing service provider for license verification
  • Is not stored in a way that can be linked to any user identity

2. How We Use Information

The hardware-derived device identifier is used solely for:

  • Software license validation
  • Preventing unauthorized use of the App
  • Ensuring compliance with our End User License Agreement (EULA)

We do not use this identifier for tracking, analytics, advertising, or any other purpose beyond license verification.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage Only

All content you create, including presentations, speech scripts, recordings, and practice sessions, is stored exclusively on your local device. This data is never uploaded to external servers, cloud storage, or transmitted over the internet.

3.2 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we process:

  • Secure transmission protocols for license verification
  • Encryption of data in transit
  • Regular security assessments and updates

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

4.1 Third-Party Licensing Service Provider

We use a third-party service provider to process license verification. This provider receives only the hardware-derived device identifier code for the sole purpose of validating your software license. This provider:

  • Acts as a data processor on our behalf
  • Is contractually bound to use the device identifier only for license verification
  • Implements appropriate security measures to protect the data
  • Does not use the identifier for any other purpose, including tracking, analytics, or advertising
  • Does not share the identifier with any other third parties

4.2 No Other Data Sharing

Beyond our licensing service provider, we do NOT share, sell, rent, or trade any data with any other third parties.

The App does not integrate with other third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics platforms. Your use of the App is completely private.

We may disclose information only if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.

Given that the App does not collect personal information, it may be used by children under parental supervision. However, if you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@virtualorator.com.

7. International Data Transfers

The limited device identifier data processed for licensing purposes may be transmitted to and stored on servers located in various countries. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

8. Data Retention

We retain the hardware-derived device identifier only for as long as necessary to:

  • Verify your software license
